The Gospel Is Our Collective Responsibility

The Gospel Is Our Collective Responsibility
To a lot of people, the preaching of the gospel ought to be only from behind the pulpit. This is not true. God didn’t assign the preaching of the gospel to a select few in the body of Christ. The office of the Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, and Teachers is not to the world, but the Church. The Bible says in Ephesians 4:11-12,
“And he gave some, apostles; and some prophets; and some evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry…”
These five-fold ministry gifts in the Church are for the perfecting of the saints so that the saints can do the work of the ministry. What is this work of the ministry? It is the preaching of the gospel to the people of the world. This is what the Bible refers to as the ministry of reconciliation; it’s a ministry for every believer. The devil has never wanted the gospel of Christ preached and has been trying all he can to stop it. He doesn’t want people to hear what Jesus has done for them and that’s why we have to tell everybody that the Word works. God has anointed you to deliver men from the bondage of the enemy, therefore it’s high time you be about your heavenly Father’s business, for many more need the message God has deposited in you.
