Prosperity Is Yours In Christ

There are Christians who assume poverty is necessary to live a godly life. I’ve even heard a minister pledge to poverty. I think that’s absurd! Poverty might be the mark of religion but it’s definitely not the mark of Christianity. Don’t let the world put the mark of religion on you; reject poverty because prosperity is your right in Christ.

I always tell God’s children, “You’re not the poor trying to get rich!” I don’t know how to make this statement strong enough. If you want to get ahead in life, this must be your mentality. You’re not poor; you’re the rich being introduced to his estate and becoming more aware of what belongs to him. There are different levels of prosperity at which God’s people function.

Some are in the first level, where they have just enough to get by. Some have graduated to the next level where they have more than enough, hence they’re able to take care of themselves, their family and a few others. Then, there are those who have moved into the arena of abundance, where they can do so much for themselves and for many others.

However, God’s desire for you is that you move from the realm of abundance into the realm of ‘super-abundance,’ where you’re powerful enough financially to do whatever you want to do, whenever you want to do it, however you want to do it! That’s what the opening Scripture is talking about:

“And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need, be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation]” 2 Corinthians 9:8 AMP
